Ryan Air to Stop Flying to Canary Islands

Ryan Air announced that they will stop flying to four locations in Spain from January 2020, and three of those locations are in the Canary Islands.

The cuts were announced on the back of a 41 percent dive in first-quarter earnings, and blamed on "Brexit worries" among other things. Union representatives have been reported as saying that the cuts will result in the loss of more than 500 jobs.

Meanwhile, the USO Union have confirmed a 10 day scheduled strike to start on September 1st and continue on nine other days across the month after talks between management and unions failed. The destinations which will be removed from their flight list are Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, and Girona.
